Our team implemented a comprehensive chiller upgrade project at Paarl Hospital, designed by Western Cape Government. The key element is the installation of two new Daikin heat pump chillers. These innovative units offer a dual functionality:
- Cooling in Summer: During hot summer months, the Daikin chillers will function traditionally, providing cool air circulation throughout the hospital.
- Heating in Winter: When winter arrives, these versatile units seamlessly switch to provide efficient heating, ensuring consistent comfort for patients and staff.
To optimise efficiency, the system utilises a sophisticated seasonal changeover controller. This intelligent system automatically adjusts the chiller operation based on the outside temperature, ensuring the most appropriate climate control for each season.
Technical Specifications – Daikin Heat Pump Chillers:
- Eco-friendly Refrigerant: These Daikin air-cooled heat pumps utilise the latest R32 refrigerant, boasting a low Global Warming Potential (GWP) and Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP). This contributes to a more sustainable environmental impact for the hospital.
- Quiet Operation: Maintaining a peaceful environment is essential for patient recovery. The Daikin chillers operate with minimal noise, producing sound levels under 87 dBA.
